Come see the final install of 27 Steps for the Market Street Prototyping Festival (Oct. 6-8, 11am-7pm)!
After 6 hours of installing, we’ve finally made it! As some of you may already know, this is a traveling peace pavilion in honor of Nelson Mandela. 27 Steps – one for each year Mandela spends in prison. By night, it is a lantern of hope, a token to the 1989 Purple Rain Protest in South Africa, just months before Mandela was released from prison.
Just as Mandela had traveled the world in 1990 in support for peace, 27 Steps will also be a traveling pavilion. This Market Street location will be our third stop in the journey – we started at the Palace of Fine Arts, then stayed at One Front lobby, and now we’re on Market Street (next to the Hyatt Regency by Spear and Market).
Come take the 27 Steps for peace!
